One of CircleCI's biggest value adds for customers is identifying failures in their builds or tests. It is what almost 80% of the traffic coming to our platform are looking for.
Problem
When users encounter a failure on our platform, they arrive at a dead end. They can see that there is a problem, but they're on their own to fix the failure. This can mean going to stack overflow, consulting others in slack, or even turning to things like AI to help them along.
Solution
As an experiment, we came up with a way to present potential solutions to users by utilizing AI, specifically landing on Chat-GPT as a solution to present users with helpful information. This experience allows users to understand and fix their problem faster than ever, so they can return to delivering value for their organization. Better yet, they no longer have to look in a new place to solve their problem.
Result
Although this started as an experiment, results were so positive - both quantitative and qualitative, that it became a permanent part of the product.
