Problem
We observed two significant trends in our platform usage and business metrics. First, we saw an increasing number of users attempting to execute AI workflows on our platform.
Simultaneously, we faced a broader business challenge: our overall user conversion rates were falling below desired targets. This combination of circumstances led us to identify a strategic opportunity. By improving and personalizing our onboarding experience to better match different users' needs—particularly those working on AI projects—we could potentially address both challenges at once.
Process
First, I gathered alignment between the VP of Product and CEO by developing a system to define the framework of onboarding and what we were trying to accomplish.
After that, we defined how the onboarding might look for different project types. And the overall flow.
Solution
We landed on an experience that allowed AI users, as well as software and custom project users, to have an experience tailored to their needs.
Impact
A completely new onboarding experience had the following results:
